I went to CU this morning and briefly read a number of philosophy books. I found that most of them categorized philosophy into five main areas, which were as below:
1) Religious Belief
2) Knowledge (Rationalism and Empirism)
3) Mind
4) Determinism
5) Morality
Clearly, we focused on the first topic last time during the dinner. I think in the coming time we can discuss the topic of knowledge, which is the main area philosophers in the 17th and 18th century studied. I suppose the first two are easier to understand, than the other three at the bottom. To begin with the first two would be a good idea for us to further know more about philosophy (the study of wisdom).
Alright. I have one more suggestion. It may be even better if you would grasp a textbook on philosophy, containing some classical and contemporary readings on philosophy. It may be hard to begin with, but I believe all of us would gain a lot after this.
Lastly, may I suggest to have the next gathering on 11 September?

Socrates, Plato and Aristotle
Have any one of you read the parts about the three famous philosophers in the Western history??
Shall we put some questions about their ideas so we can discuss??
